Creative Director

Hi, I’m Stephen Quick, a Virginia Beach-based filmmaker, photographer, and creative director. I specialize in commercial video production, branding photography, and story-driven wedding films.

My work is rooted in real moments, strong visual storytelling, and a creative process that feels easy and collaborative. Whether I’m capturing a couple’s wedding day or producing photo and video content for a brand, my goal is to create bold, honest work that connects.

I work with businesses, creatives, and couples across Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and surrounding areas—and I’m available for destination shoots as well. From concept development to final edits, I’m hands-on every step of the way.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me at the gym, on a hike, or spending time with my daughter. I believe in doing great work with good people—and making the experience smooth, relaxed, and actually fun.

FAQ

You’ve got questions? I’ve got answers. Here are the most frequently asked questions I get. Take a minute to read through them, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any more!

  • Turnaround Time & Delivery Options
Standard turnaround time for paid shoots is typically between 2 to 8 weeks, depending on the project scope and season. If you need your photos or videos delivered sooner, expedited delivery is available for an additional fee—just let me know in advance, and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

As a creative small business, occasional delays may arise due to travel, production schedules, holidays, revision requests, or high-demand periods. I appreciate your patience and understanding.

For clients who need their deliverables fast, I also offer a rush delivery option (within 48 hours). Availability is limited, so please inquire prior to your session.

Each project is handled with care, intention, and attention to detail—because I believe the creative process should be just as meaningful as the final product. My priority is to produce timeless, high-quality visuals you’ll value for years to come.

For unpaid collaborations or test shoots, turnaround time can range from 2 to 18 weeks depending on my current workload.
These projects are scheduled around paid client work and will be completed once priority commitments have been fulfilled.

  • Rates & Usage Guidelines
My rates are categorized into three tiers: Simple, Small Business, and Commercial. You can view detailed pricing here: [VIEW RATES].

    • Simple – Starting at $850, this is ideal for personal sessions (portraits, lifestyle, creative shoots). These rates do not include any usage rights for marketing, business, or profit-driven purposes.

    • Small Business & Commercial – These rates apply to any project intended for marketing or promotional use, including content used on social media, websites, or ads. Additional fees apply if you're licensing content for print, packaging, or larger distribution.

    In simple terms:
If the content will be used to promote, advertise, or generate revenue for your business — it falls under Small Business or Commercial use.

  • What are your payment terms?
A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your booking, along with a signed contract agreeing to my terms and conditions. The remaining 50% is due before the shoot date.

For flexibility, payment can be split into up to three installments—I’m happy to work with your schedule. However, no content will be delivered until the full balance is paid.

    Please note:
Unsigned contracts and unpaid invoices will delay delivery. If terms and conditions are not agreed upon, you forfeit all rights to use any content created.

  • I do not offer or include RAW files as part of my services.
RAW images are unfinished and not suitable for print, digital, or promotional use. I view them as undeveloped blueprints — the starting point of the creative process. The full expression of my work happens in post-production, where each image is carefully crafted and refined.

Requesting RAW files is a bit like asking a chef for raw ingredients instead of a prepared meal — the art is in the transformation.
